About

This page makes me smile… and cringe a little. What does one share in an “About” page?

I am a mom, teacher, learner, storyteller, sister, consultant, partner, daughter, creator, coach, mentor, advocate, and leader. Over the last 30 years, I have taught pre-K through college adjunct; supported the implementation of science of reading, early literacy, curriculum mapping, MTSS, equity, PLCs and evidence based best practices; led data analysis and the creation of standards aligned assessments; coached teachers and district leadership; and served as a building lead learner (principal) and district coordinator.

My goals are to share authentically and grow from the experiences shared by me and with me. There are many people who have contributed to my motivation to write this blog. A former colleague, my mother’s journals, a gifted teacher, dear friends, my children, an incredible man in my life – each of them has inspired and encouraged me to put words on a page. It has taken me a while to follow through and I guess that is ok. I once read a quote that says to “Trust the timing of your life.” I suppose the timing is right.
